Boy what a busy week. But I have finally launched the Top Sponsor

WHERE IS THE SPAM COMPLAINT REALLY GOING?

I am spending from one to three hours per DAY asking to be
removed or unsubscribed from lists I did not even join!
Not only are we told to "click this link" or "reply with
this subject", etc. but also told it may take days or even
WEEKS for the removal request to go through!
Writing to "customerservice@" or "abuse@" or "spam@" is
an even bigger joke! Hotmail, yahoo, aol, etc. SAY they
are cleaning up the spam on the net and to report all
abuses but when you use these addresses you get an
autoresponder message asking what the problem is!
I have had mail forwarded to these so-called customer
service departments with such filthy subject lines I
cannot believe they got through anyone's filters, let
alone mine which are as strong as I know how to make
them, yet I have had all three of the above domain
abuse departments ask me "what exactly is the problem
with the email message you sent us?" Well, DUH!
IF the subject line is not enough, I forward the ENTIRE
message, images intact and they write back for MORE
information on the complaint! The abusers know they are
safe from being banned from these email resources while
editors of legitimate ezines and marketers who send an
autoresponse when someone asks for more information
are shut down by their ISP's with no questions asked!
Vigilante groups like Spam Cop can get me AND YOU
shut down on their say-so alone when someone lodges
a complaint and they are not even a REAL organization
with any legal standing! Yet the abuse departments of
these email accounts make US do their work trying to
stop the spammers and still do nothing but send
endless messages to us with more work for US to do!
When I grow up I want to own my OWN Internet Service
Provider business and totally MY OWN hosting. I will
not make millions of dollars as my scruples and integrity
will be foremost in my guidelines. I will allow MY
customers to set their OWN filters and make their own
choices but I will also not ALLOW addresses like:
Horny Homer or Lusty Linda or domains that are
obviously for a porn site.
Ezine owners will not have to worry that 90% of their
subscribers will have their mail blocked by filters
if they use the "awful" words like Sale, Pay, Buy,
Order, Marketing, Advertising, etc. but will be held
accountable if they do not have removal instructions
on every email they send that is not to a personal friend
or family member. It is not that hard to give a LEGITIMATE
removal option and then stick to it!
I try my best to remove anyone from my subscriber
list at Rim digest ezine. Optinlightning mailing
system puts the email address they are subscribed
with at the end of every mailing I make with it and
clicking that link automatically removes that address
from the database. I also unsubscribe manually any
address that is THERE when the person asks me to
remove them. My biggest time waster comes from people
who are trying to unsubscribe a different address
than the one in the database and I have no way to
find them.
This morning (July 27, 2002) I spent two HOURS
doing unsubscribe and remove messages from my
husband's and my POP account addresses, 95% on things
we never signed up FOR. Then I got to spend a joyful
fun-filled two hours asking for removal for every
address someone could think of at rimdigest.com!
Neither George nor I want to increase the size of
any of our body parts, need help on any techniques
or signed up for 23 Physic hotlines! As he said just
last night when I mentioned unsubscribing AGAIN
from numerous physic ezines/web sites/groups, etc.
"If they are *physic* why do you need to do that?
They should KNOW you do not want their emails!"
LOL!
Do these people really sell their products or get
others to join their programs by sending endless
spam? Do we cave and say "ok, I want to triple my
bust size so you will leave me alone"? And while I
am sleeping, does my bounce@rimdigest.com address
really hit the submission sites, visit porn sites
and send endless messages that give the receiver
permission to send me 3 to 30 messages per day
for life? Two of the *biggest* names I have heard
on the net in 4 years endlessly spam the above
bounce address for the ezine! Am I going to buy
one's stupid ISP service or the other's silly
Marketing Success Course if they spam me enough?!
Because of *some* spam filtering, I cannot even get
my OWN ezine at my pop account but this same filter
lets porn domains and subjects that even shock ME,
a 48 year old married woman with 3 children!- come
through! Am I missing something here? I would LOVE
to know what YOU think!

TIME TO LAUGH...

There were two old guys, Abe and Sol, sitting on a bench in a
park feeding pigeons and talking about baseball, just like they
did every day.
Abe turns to Sol and says, "Do ya think there's baseball in
heaven?" Soloman thinks about it for a minute and replies, "I
dunno, Abe.
But let's make a deal: If I die first, I will come back and tell
you -- and if you die first, you come back and tell me -- if
there is baseball in heaven. Deal?"
They shake on it and, sadly, a few months later poor Abe passes
on.
One day soon afterward, Sol is sitting there feeding the pigeons
by himself when he hears a voice whisper, "Sol... Sol...." Sol
responds, "Abe! Is that you?" "Yes it is Sol," whispers the
spirit of Abe.
Sol, still amazed, asks, "So, is there baseball in heaven?"
"Well," says Abe,
"I got good news and I got bad news."
"Gimme the good news first," says Sol.
Abe says, "Well... there is baseball in heaven."
Sol says, "That's great! What news could be bad enough to ruin
that!?"
Abe sighs and whispers, "You're pitching on Friday."
