Hi, everyone. Welcome to another classified edition of My IBiz Weekly.
Okay everyone, if you think this is just another classified edition with ads galore and nothing else, not today.
You see I see a lot of people including myself who have been very discouraged lately with their sales. Seems like we are all trying to play the same game and failing at the same time.
So instead of waiting until Tuesday to give you some inspiration, you can read it today.
Funny thing is I get a good amount of feedback from my readers for the classified issue. You think that no one is reading it but they are. So I have only published a few ads from the ad coops today so you can read my Quick thoughts to you. This should help get you through the weekend and help you iron out your business first before you can conquer the world :)
There is also a scam alert announcement on a fake Paypal email I received this morning. I did receive Paypal's periodical newsletter which talked about avoiding chargeback's but that is not the bogus email. Read about it in the scam alert section and you will see what I mean.
There is also a great article from Denise Hall from Home Business on a Budget Newsletter which really should kick start the motivation in you along with an article, I wrote almost a year ago but I see it as very appropriate with this issue.

I received another one of those fake Paypal notices today in my email stating that their systems had crashed and they needed you to log into a so called paypal site called
paypal-accounts.com.
PLEASE do not go to that site. Paypal has not lost their data as I was just logged into Paypal ( and received their newsletter ) prior to receiving the email plus the email came to my ezine address so I knew that was an instant bogus email.
The email arrived in html, but here is the text version of it so you can look out for this.

QUICK THOUGHTS FROM YOUR PUBLISHER

I have a few rants today and a few pieces of inspiration for you today.
First the rants. You know what I get tired of seeing sometimes. Although I am sure it is billed as a good sales tool, ( remember how we talked about those long sales letters in previous issues)
What I don't like are the ezines that start out by giving you a good speech about changing your life and making money and to not fall for the hype, and it all ends with a link to some new ebook or a new private site.
As if that is supposed to be the answer to all your business and financial problems.
It is at that point that I think to myself, " did this publisher even care about me in the first place to actually give me free advice or is it
"FREE WITH A CATCH MARKETING "
Oh I see what you want. Sucker me into thinking you really have the fix for a great business online when you are just trying to sell an ebook or a course.
Now of course one of the main goals in a free ezine is to hopefully generate an income through advertising and other forms of back end sales
But at what cost.
I grow tired of some people telling me this is THE book for you when last month you were telling me about another book that was THE ONE.
Remember of course the one has to be an ebook priced at least $90 so they can get a great commission from it.
No one says you are not supposed to sell ebooks, I have sold enough in my days, but it is just the way you present yourself.
I know that there are marketing methods out there that I have not even begun to understand but I understand common sense and that alone knocks out a lot of the so called marketing methods.
I know from a stand point, anyone who has been online for less than 2 years is a Newbie and they prey on this.
I don't like that method, thinking we are too stupid to figure out the basics.
Now I do feel that you should learn the basics of human behavior to understand the psychology of why people buy and what helps them to buy. People do buy on emotions and it just depends on how bad you want to play on that factor.
Just as when you are looking to see what is wrong with a person, you have to look at their background ( childhood) first before any assumptions are made.
That is just plain old business common sense right there. But I am not talking about that but the whole concept of :
"You are too stupid to know why I am selling you this over hyped book which contains nothing more than a bunch of fancy words and still no real help"
I can't tell you that the money is in the list and then expect you to just figure out how to start a newsletter.
I can't tell you to join every high paying commission affiliate program and then not tell you how to market the site.
I can't tell you that this book will make you rich when all it may do is lead you down a path that you didn't want to take in the first place. ( We have all been there, you wanted to sell some teddy bears online, next thing you know you are members of a bunch of forced matrix programs that have nothing to do with your original purpose)
I know most of us want an easy way of living so they assume that they can find it online.
Remember a lot of these "experts" became that way years ago when no one knew any better. No one knew about spam, pyramid schemes, and other cons, so it was easy back then.
When there was free web hosting, free internet service, free everything.
Now folks are trying to make us pay to send email. It has become a mad rush to grab everyone's attention because the next month our brains will no longer have an interest.
NOW I SEE THE PROBLEM
Remember in the beginning, you have all your morals and ethics intact and they are not changing.
6 months down the line, you are getting discouraged and you start to look at those other programs you were not going to get into.
12 months down the line, you are running yourself ragged trying to build a downline.
18 months later, you wonder, what the heck am I doing.
I am still broke, and I can't figure out where I went wrong.
But all your morals and ethics flew out the door about 9 months ago and you didn't even realize it.
There is nothing wrong with reading ebooks, eCourses, or any other type of help to get you started online
But do not expect it to solve your problems.
EXPECT NOTHING, STAY HAPPY
Instead of complaining about how many people DID NOT sign up for your ezine this week, be grateful for those that DID sign up.
Instead of complaining of low traffic, low sales, be grateful for what you DID get.
Am I established?? Some big marketer going around buying flashy cars, and going on expensive trips.
Oh please I am just getting started.
Even after a year and a half I am still learning the ropes.
I still have my no sales days like everyone else.
But this gives me a chance to take care of things that I wouldn't have the chance to do when everything is hectic.
Like they always say.. Everything happens for a reason.
Don't try to figure it out just stick to your goals.
THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK AND WATCH YOUR BACK
Now here is a topic you don't hear about much often. As with any business, there is always competition and competition is rough out there.
It can get pretty cut throat at times.
Remember in the office when you had an idea to tell the boss but you told your co-worker and they in turn took the idea to your boss before you had a chance to even print out your proposal.
Same thing online.
WATCH YOUR BACK ON DISCUSSION LISTS, CHAT ROOMS, MESSAGE BOARDS
You never know who is reading. Remember most of these forums are public forums. Just because you don't see that person post doesn't mean they are not reading.
I have seen people talk all types of trash about others on these boards only to see their same words come back to haunt them later on. Be careful
Don't be so quick to throw names with situations
Don't be so quick to respond to certain sticky situations, it comes back to haunt you in the worst ways.
This isn't like in high school, if you talked trash, kids were waiting for you at 3 o'clock in the playground ( Hey I'm from Brooklyn, it's a New York thing)
Well now they wait to get you where it hurts, your business, and therefore your pockets.

Stealing Customers
You know the business version of Backbiting.
Because we are online, our words count for our reputation, our business, our livelihood. You are judged by your words first, everything else comes second.
Remember that the next time you want to:
Trash a competitor
Develop a new product or service
Reveal information about yourself that can give someone access to your accounts and your pc.
It still takes a lot for me to trust anyone, sending a few emails back and forth does not mean that you are now my buddy and you should have access to my business deals. The ones that I trust I have known for years, so just keep certain things to yourself no matter what.
THE ONLY TRUE PERSON STOPPING YOU IS YOU
If you want something done, you are going to have to rely on yourself
DIG DEEP DOWN to find the strength to continue.
When another day goes by without a sale and you are ready to seriously just cash in your chips and bow out, hold tight
DIG DEEP Within Yourself And Pull Yourself Up.
No one can do it but you.
No one knows what you really want but you, so who is going to help you first and foremost. you
Of course you should have a great support network of friends and family who are there to help you and guide you.
Not those who are happy to see you fail.
Those are the toxic people you need to avoid.
So for all my online friends who are always there to help me and to pick me up when I am down, thank you.
Trust me when I tell you I get to the point sometimes where I am ready to just completely throw the towel in and just accept failure and stand still.
To accept failure is to stand still in your emotions and goals.
Me, nope sorry I will never stand still, no matter how hard it seems.

SUCCESS DOESN'T HAPPEN OVERNIGHT

We've all heard that old saying, right? Of course, we
have. And it's so true!
Nothing we try to accomplish in our lives will bring us to
our ultimate goals overnight. Everything takes time. Was
Rome built in a day? I don't think so.
Why, then, do people think they'll become rich in a few
days, a week or a month if they run an internet business?
Good question. Maybe it's because there's so much hype
out there. It sounds good to say "just sign up 20 people
and the money will flow in!"
Yes, actually, that does sound good. But no one tells you
the hard part is signing up those 20 people. I'm not
saying it can't be done. I just mean it takes time and
effort on your part.
How many of us have fallen for the "get rich quick"
promises? Probably most of us. Online and offline, there are
plenty of scams and hype. It's easy to get caught up in the
presentation of the program and think that it will work fast.
Unfortunately, when it doesn't work out immediately, a lot of
people give up and feel like failures.
Working at any business takes time and effort. I used to
sell cosmetics door to door for a great company. I'm sure
all of you know the one I'm talking about. There's no doubt
the products sell themselves. But I still didn't have a
large client base or hundreds of sales overnight.
Why? Because customers want to know you're reliable. They
need to see you at their door with the new brochure every
other week. Eventually they will place a small order to see
if you deliver it when promised. Once you gain their
confidence they will order more as time goes on. One by one
they start to place orders and your customer base grows.
The same holds true for internet businesses. Everyday I
receive several e-mails offering this or that from someone
I've never heard of. I delete them. I'm not going to buy
from someone who sends me a one-time e-mail when I didn't
request the information in the first place.
A good business person follows up with his/her customers.

Customer follow-up is one of the biggest keys to a
successful business, online and offline. Your customers
need to know you are there to answer questions about your
product and to help them if they have any problems with it.
Internet businesses are a great way to earn money from
home. You can set your own hours and take a day off when
you wish. But, as with any other business, you do need to
work at it. Whether you work to build a downline or simply
advertise your products to gain sales, you have to work.
Nothing in life is free. There is no such thing as "get
rich quick." Success doesn't happen overnight. But if you
really want to succeed it will happen. Be patient and
never give up on your dreams!

I am beginning to think that some of us just don't get it.
The online entrepreneurs seem to be missing the big picture.
I have heard so many complaints lately about not getting the
success they hoped to have so now certain things get compromised. The quality of their sites, their newsletter, their business.
Too many people are forgetting their "purpose" online.
You are running a business. Whether you are in a suit or in your pajamas, this was your purpose, and now it seems like you are giving up.
You started with a nice website and a nice newsletter, but
somewhere along the line, you got discouraged.
Not enough hits.
Not enough sales.
Too many unsubscribe requests.
Too many nasty emails.
Joined too many over saturated affiliate programs.
Too much negative feedback.
Not making enough money.
I think this may be in my opinion one of the most frustrating,
not enough people saying "thanks"
So now everything suffers.
THE QUALITY OF YOUR EZINE
What was once something you were excited to do every week, is now a chore. You really enjoyed it, but you want to see results, paid results. Be honest, even though you knew you couldn't get rich overnight, you still expected to see more than twenty bucks in the mail. When the money didn't roll in, you said well I'll have to just to bite the bullet and do what I have to do.
Unfortunately that meant putting more ads in your ezine,
accepting any ad that came your way, using the same article that everyone else used for content, because you were fed up.
So now why did you bother to start a business?
Would you like to see the first sites of some of the more
established marketers? Have you seen their first newsletter
issue? They are probably too embarrassed to show it to you!
Just like you can always tell when a person who normally keeps
themselves up, let themselves go, you can tell with these
newsletters.
THE QUALITY OF YOUR WEBSITE
Remember your website? You know the one that said 'last updated
February 2001'. The one that is still celebrating the turn of the century? I'm not talking about throwing in the fancy graphics, or the fancy scripts. Just fix things up a little. Just because you have low hits, doesn't mean that you can leave any old thing on your site.
Now I write this because I have been guilty of all of this too. I too was worried about the money and almost stopped having fun with my site and newsletter. Honestly, every unsubscribe request hurts just a bit. I even hate to unsubscribe to other ezines because I understand.
But I also understand that if a publisher stops caring then I
don't blame you for wanting to unsubscribe.
Perk up some things, find your niche. Do something different from the next marketer. The competition is fierce but you should think up some ideas to help boost not only your site and newsletter, but boost your faith again in your business.
Maybe it's something simple as offering a personal consultation
or a money back guarantee ( haven't seen that one in a while) or just simply some ebooks that are of real value to us.
Have you tried a joint venture yet? So many people are afraid of that word for fear that it means huge amounts of money involved by some huge corporation.
If a publisher contacts you to help promote their new ebook and
all they ask in return is a free ad, and you receive a
complimentary copy of their book. Guess what, that's a joint
venture!! Nothing complicated, just call it advanced ad swaps
with a twist.
I am not saying to compromise yourself. Never forget your morals. Don't think that because you are online and no one sees you then you can pull any trick in the book

less ads in your issues. If I can't tell the difference between
your classified edition and your regular issue, it's time to
change the format
>>Accepting any old ad. Have we compromised our morals this bad
that we don't care what we help promote? You are the publisher.
You have every right to say "I will not place that ad, please
submit another " or refund their money. Or did you spend the
money already?
>>Trying to bang your head trying to figure out what to do and
just do it. Take that risk. Come up with a joint venture with
other publishers and webmasters. It doesn't' have to be
complicated, just beneficial to both parties.
THE QUALITY OF YOUR LIFE
Stop compromising yourself and your business because you want to be rich without any hassle at all. If you went to work everyday in a suit and tie to a big office building and your job was to write the weekly newsletter or to build the company website, would you care a bit more because you are not in your robe and slippers drinking cold coffee wondering when the laundry will finish.
If you could do this job for free, would you do it? Has it
stopped being fun? Might as well go back to the old 9 to 5 if you hate this already..
If pornography and all the other crap out there only paid minimum wage would you deal with it at all?
Just something to think about the next time you decide to promote something just for the sake of promoting.
