Welcome From Your Publisher...
===============================================================
Hi and welcome to another edition of MIBW. I hope you
are having a good week. I have decided to stop the Help, I 'm
Married to the Computer Series because I realized that I won't
have anything left for the actual ebook :) I will have a
conclusion to the series next week so stay tuned for that.
Before I go into the section on working with children at home, I
decided to save that and other sections for the ebook itself.
So before I finish up the ebook, I have to take a break on
writing any articles until it's done. For those of you who have
written to me about my articles on autoresponder, I have taken
down the autoresponders temporarily due to tons of viruses
hitting those addresses. So to stop it I just disabled the
articles. Of course you can still find my articles online
http://ezineadhelper.com/donesia
I should have them back up by next week so stay tuned for that
announcement.
Speaking of articles, do you know that I write a weekly tips
column for Diane Hughes? Diane Hughes from Pro Biz Tips
http://probiztips.com
has always had a great ezine, full of tips
to get the most of your internet business. Now she has created a
private membership site Net Profit Secrets
http://www.netprofitsecrets.com/nps/donesiam My weekly
tips can
be found in the weekly Net Profit Secrets newsletter. Please take
the time to visit the site and join the membership.
You can also find me on my own forum. Yes I finally have a forum.
After all these years of saying that I wanted to start a forum,
and now the best of both worlds. I was invited to participate in
the Net Profit Secrets Forums. You can find me here
http://www.netprofitsecrets.com/forum/ Look under the
Expert
Panel section and you will find me. Go ahead and ask me any
business related or ezine publishing question. The forum is
brand new so I am hoping to jump start the forum over the next
week or so.
I have quite a few irons in the fire lately but I know that I am
going to take my time with those projects or nothing will get
done. I realized as I was creating the Married to the Computer
series just how badly working at home can change the family
dynamics. Sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse.
Working at home always requires some form of damage control
somewhere down the line, just be prepared for it.
FREE ADS
Last week I mentioned that there was going to be a change in the
way the free ads are handled here. I have used an online
classified directory script for quite some time, and its been
great, especially for free :) But then there are always the
people who choose to abuse the system and make it bad for
everyone. Sounds like school huh !
So what I have decided to do was to disable the classified script
and go back to the old method of adding the free ads in my ezine.
Now while some publishers may think I am crazy, especially with a
subscriber count of over 22,000 readers but I cannot dismiss free
ads. There are plenty of people online who make money this way
and while it is free and a paid ad always gives you the best
exposure, if you want to submit a free ad then it should be seen.
Now the rules to submitting the free ads are a bit different this
time and it will be enforced.
>> You must remain a subscriber in order to see your free ad.
>> One Free Ad Per Subscriber.
>> The ad will be seen in the My IBiz Ads section. No more than 6
for the main edition. The Classified Edition is still for the ads
from various ad coops and it will also be used for Subscriber Ads
as well.
>> The ad must be FTC compliant. Don't even think I am posting
the ad if it doesn't meet the guidelines.
>> Remember all ads are archived along with every issue of MIBW.
http://myibizweekly.com/archives/index.htm
>> Abusing the system will get you removed and banned from MIBW.
Yes I have a script that will track the IP addresses.
>> I will only accept free ads using this form here
http://myibizweekly.com/freeads.htm
Thanks again everyone. Go ahead right now since its new everyone
is a new subscriber so submit your free ad now.
http://myibizweekly.com/freeads.htm
Obviously there will be a backlog so don't send me an email asking
about your ad.
Thanks again everyone and enjoy today's articles. I will be back
on Friday for our Classified Edition and will keep you posted on
the status of the ebook.
Have a great day

Working At Home...Should It Be A Job Or A Business?
===============================================================
By Kirk Bannerman
You have decided to work at home (either by choice or necessity)
and now you are faced with the decision as to whether to pursue
a work at home job or to start a home based business. That may
sound like a minor distinction, but the differences can be
significant.
A general psychological characterization of the entrepreneurial
spirit, says they are typically people who have a high energy
level, set long-term goals, feel quite self-confident, and view
money and financial security as a measure of accomplishment and
piece of mind.
They are further characterized as problem solvers, who take
risks, learn from their failures (as well as those of others),
accept personal responsibility, seize the initiative, and use all
available resources to achieve their success.
Entrepreneurs compete with themselves and believe that success or
failure lies within their personal control or influence. They do
not see setbacks as failures, but rather as learning experiences.
Most of all, they exhibit persistence and tenacity, never giving
up and never quitting the quest for success.
If you fit most of these criteria, you would probably elect to
start a home business instead of undertaking a work at home job.
However, the decision to work at home does not necessarily mean
that you want to be the owner of a business. You may prefer
working at home for an already established company. This is
often easier to do than owning a business yourself and you may
not want all the headaches, responsibilities and obligations that
come with owning your own business.
Regardless of which path (job or business) you choose, the first
step is to figure out what business or work-from-home opportunity
you want to pursue. There are many excellent information sources
such as public libraries and Internet sites that list seemingly
countless home business and work at home job opportunities. The
abundance is so great that it might well lead to confusion. One
of the most important factors is often overlooked. This is your
personal inventory. Often this will yield some direction and
focus to the business or job selection process. Assess yourself
and your situation.
Write a resume for yourself that includes your background,
education, training as well as any particular on-the-job skills
you possess that could possibly be used in a venture or job. Also
look at your leisure-time activities and hobbies, because many
businesses result from a person following their "passion." Ask
yourself how much time you can realistically put into a business
venture, given your present commitments.
Once you have determined the general type of home business or
work at home job that you want to undertake, it is of critical
importance that you do your homework (research) to select the
specific opportunity where you are going to make your
"investment" (some combination of time, effort and money) in
working at home.

Power Phrases Increase Your Sales
===============================================================
Copyright 2003 Bob Leduc
http://BobLeduc.com
Simple power phrases stimulate your customer's feelings and
trigger an emotional decision to buy from you. You can
increase your sales by using power phrases in your web
pages, sales letters and other marketing messages.
Why Power Phrases Trigger The Buying Action
A power phrase helps your customer visualize how they will
feel when they own your product or use your service. It
generates an imagined feeling and motivates your customer
to convert that feeling into reality.
Most of your customers make an emotional decision to buy
from you. They may look for logical reasons to justify
their decision. But their decision to buy is usually an
emotional decision instead of a logical one.
Power phrases increase a customer's desire for your product
or service and trigger an emotional decision to buy.
How To Create A Power Phrase
Creating a power phrase is easy. Start by listing some of
the major benefits your customers get when they buy from
you. Then combine a few highly descriptive action words
about one or more of those benefits into a short phrase.
Here are some examples of power phrases used by 3 different
types businesses:
* "Fast! Easy! Very Low Cost!" (For a product or service
business)
* "I'll help you myself! That's why I can guarantee
results." (For a service business)
* "Work you enjoy, more money to spend and more time to
spend it." (For a business opportunity offer)
Use High-Impact Words
Look at the words used in the above 3 power phrases. Many
are high-impact words (fast, easy, very low cost, help,
guarantee, enjoy, more money, more time). Power phrases use
high-impact words to create high-impact statements.
Tip: Use short and clearly understood high-impact words for
your power phrases. They create a dramatic word picture in
your customer's mind without drawing attention to the
actual words you use.
A Series Of 3 Words Or Phrases
Here's a special tip based on my personal experience.
Create some of your power phrases using a series of 3 words
or 3 groups of words. For some reason a series of 3 words
or phrases seems to produce a dramatic and memorable image
in a customer's mind.
My most effective power phrases usually combine 3 words or
3 groups of words together in a series. For example:
"Save time. Save money. Get immediate results."
"Fast! Easy! Very Low Cost!"
"Enjoy it at home, in the office or in your car"
"Guaranteed on time every time or it's free"
"Power, Performance and Speed"
Use the information in this article to develop power
phrases for your products and services. Then include those
power phrases in your web pages, sales letters and other
marketing and sales messages. They will immediately
increase your sales.
