Why oh Why does it seem as if a lot of so called help only caters to the person who wrote it instead of you, the person who is buying it in the first place. Yes If I had 20,000 dollars now, I could hire the people I need to have a staffed online business. They would take care of the work and make things easier. But the reality just is not that scenario. What income level do you want to be at? Is it very far from where you are now? How easy is it for you to just give up and say "Oh forget about it?" Motivation, Skills, A Thirst For Knowledge are amongst the things we ALL need to survive this crazy world. So I think we can all relate to my newest section of MIBW. Before I go forward with this series of articles, let me emphasize that no matter what anyone says or does, it requires a lot of hard work and long hours to make a business a success. That may not necessarily mean working 20 hour days (for some it is) but you cannot expect to see riches anytime soon without any work involved. Now with that being said... One of the things that bugs me online is the fact that everyone can TRY to tell you how to make money, they can tell you what tools and resources worked for them and how they made millions in their sleep, but have you ever wondered how they function with their normal lives along with their business lives? If someone just came out with a new ebook on how they made their profits online, and they tell you "Oh I am a 21 year old College student, If I can do so can you" Maybe so, but let's think about it. That person more than likely has no spouse and/or children. (if so they would surely emphasize that point) That person probably has no outside employment and relies on someone else, like a parent to take care of their basic needs (i.e., they have no bills) That person who has none of these day to day responsibilities would probably succeed faster with less distractions. Note: I say "would probably succeed" because nothing is guaranteed in life, but less distractions sure help. Can you think back to the last time, you saw a new website being advertised. Everyone hears about it and it seems to have a great concept, well laid out design, etc. But then all of a sudden, the site is either cancelled or the content starts to get really old, as if someone just stopped caring about it. Many times, people start and stop things all the time. Hey I have done that a lot of times as well. Do you know why? Many times, you didn't anticipate how much work it would take up. You didn't anticipate how many hours you would have to put in to maintain the site (you can't just put it up and forget about it) You didn't think it would affect your family at all. Come on, the majority of people who email me asking for help are: Stay at Home Mothers, and Fathers Disabled, or Home Bound due to Illness Those who work outside of the home as well as online No one wants to tell you how to deal with the amount of flack you can get from your family when starting online. Even after 2 years, I still have family members who don't take me seriously. They figure oh you are home, it is just a hobby. The fact is your mind has to be clutter free to succeed. For example, over the next series of issues, we going to look at The Life And Business Of Jane CanDo. Jane CanDo is a stay at home mom, who received a computer for her birthday and was anxious to get started learning how to use the computer. Jane CanDo also is married and has three children, all under the age of 15. Jane CanDo used to work in a variety of former jobs, Secretarial, Customer Service, Accounting, Even Telemarketing. She has the skills and resources. Let's see how Jane can use her skills to get started online. Let's see how Jane's family reacts to the amount of time it takes to get started. Let's see how sane Jane will be when its all done. Can Jane Do Everything She Set Out To Do? Can it be done? Of course, but can we also take away those pre-conceived notions of the amount of sacrifices made to work online and look at realistically how the majority of us crash and burn and still don't know why. Let's break down those Notions Once and For All. The Life Of Jane CanDo will be integrated into a weekly column so you can track how she figures out what she wants to do online, how to make it happen, how to avoid the mistakes she ends up making. I will also have some guest tips and feedback for you to help you. Jane will learn of some time saving software and tools to make the transition easier for her. There will still be some great articles from myself and guest authors. The quality of life still has to be maintained, so let's get to it. You may have been through some of these problems or still going through them, but either way, you will be able to relate to the issues. By Donesia Muhammad What makes your ezine hot stuff? With literally thousands of ezines online today, how can yours stand out or is it doomed to stay in the junk mail folders?? The first thing to think about is, what is your ezine about? Do you have a clue? If you don't know then you can bet a million dollars that your readers haven't the slightest idea what you are talking about. Define what your purpose is in the first place. Information, Advertising, Current Events, Reviews. The choice is yours and the possibilities are endless.. One of the biggest mistakes I see a lot of people do is to mirror another ezine. We all have ezines that we love to read and learn from but that doesn't mean that you need to duplicate the exact same type of ezine. Many of us get sucked into this online world completely forgetting our original goals and end up just jumping on the band wagon instead of being unique. What works for one may not work for you. Don't get fooled into that "If I can do it so you can you" Syndrome. It is not just about copying and pasting anymore... > Put some flair into your words. You don't have to sound like a robot. Develop your own style of writing so that everyone knows your style and will come to appreciate it even more. > You don't need to reveal your entire life story but stories that are relevant to the topics are great openers. > If you use advertising in your ezine, try to compliment the advertising according to your topics. Targeted advertising means a more increased chance of someone purchasing your products and services. > Ask and you shall find out. Poll Your Readers and find out what interests them. You may be surprised at the responses. Publishers have to think in three ways. As A Publisher This is my name on this ezine. Do I care what I publish or will I just keep this ezine the same way? Do I care what my readers think, will paid advertisers want to pay to advertise with me? Am I committed to helping people through the power of email advertising or do I just care of making a fast buck telling people about every fly-by-night program that comes along? As A Reader What keeps you subscribed? Is it because of the good information. Do you find yourself waiting for another exciting issue to come out. If the issue doesn't arrive do you contact the publisher to find out if an issue is coming out. Do you read the issue and feel you have learned something new? Something that will help make your life better, easier, more helpful? As An Advertiser If I want to advertise in this ezine, why should I? Is it because of the low prices or is it because the ezine has a responsive list of people who WANT to read what the publisher has to say. If the publisher doesn't care what they put in their ezine, then why should I bother pulling out my credit card? Many publishers new and old all go through this problem. That is when you need to sit down and view yourself from those three perspectives and then you can understand where you, your ezine, and your reputation is headed.
