Hi, and welcome to another issue of MIBW. With the
server issues I had over the weekend I just decided to scrap
Saturday's proposed issue and just go back on my regular
schedule. What a weekend.
I am gathering some information to answer the questions that
many people have had recently which is what is the deal with
the duplicate content rule with Google and if so, then why are
Private Label articles so popular. Stay tuned for that topic
soon.
Two great articles today on how to get started writing when you
have no idea what to write about. Remember, always keep a pen
and paper handy, you never know when the idea bug hits you.

Staring At The Empty Page

You are gazing out the window of your room, the curtains still
half drawn slightly bulging from the gentle breeze. It is a
picturesque spring day, mid morning.
You turn back from your gaze that seemed to last but only a
moment. The harsh reality hits you square between the eyes,
you have to write this new page or article before you to can
enjoy this day.
Only problem is you have been staring at the blank page for the
last two hours trying to come up with the perfect, or as close
to it, idea. Another hour passes as you have two cups of
coffee, some biscuits, a chat with th dog, pacing up and down
the passage, and you have still not come up with a single word.
It is true that you cannot turn your creativity on and off as
you please, a few lucky ones can but for the most of us it is
rather an impossible task.
Strangely enough, these modern computers that we own, with all
the bells and whistles still don't help us a single bit when we
have to write or create something, it is just a patient
assistant.
Next time you need to come up with something new and fresh
follow these steps and they will lead you to getting your idea
written.
Pick a word for your topic, any word that relates to your idea
or product at this point in time.
Go to your overture keyword tool and type in your word. Sift
through the results and choose five keyword phrases that
describes your idea more clearly than the single word you wrote
down.
Sit back, relax and think over it for a while, maybe even get
another cup of coffee. The important thing now is not to try
and rush the writing, if you do you will just have to do it all
over again, have patience.
When you come back jot down some ideas that relate to your
subject and scramble the phrases you wrote down around.
These will become your main themes.
Open Google search and click on the advanced search. The reason
for using advanced search is that it will return good results
unlike a normal web search where you have to filter through
piles of pages before you get to what you are interested in.
This type of search will save you a lot of time.
Getting ideas off the top of your head is not always that easy
so we will find a ways to help us. This is a good way to go
about finding information if you have no idea what words to put
into a sentence let alone write 800 word article about it.
Type each of your main themes, words or keyword phrases into
the tool. Set it to show 10 results. Open the sites one by one
and firstly determine if what you see, is relevant to what you
want to write. If so read through the content once or twice and
take out the main elements or ideas you find to be important to
your article.
Go through all ten. You will find that only about half will be
relevant to you. You will probably also come across ideas or
information you never even thought of in the first place, which
is a huge bonus for a little work.
As you research write the ideas or headings for ideas down in
your document. Don't worry what it looks like at this stage
just keep on going.
Once you have finished with the research, give yourself a
break just to clear your mind. Take a walk with the dog, talk
to the trees and plants and in so doing amuse the neighbors. At
least they now have something to talk about.
Go back to your computer and start sorting the info you wrote
down, don't rewrite yet, first cut and paste in the page so
that you have an article that will make sense, and remember to
have a beginning, middle and end.
Once you have completed, start rewriting your information in
sentences and paragraphs, easily readable and understandable.
This is one way that works, if you have no idea what you want
to write about, or how to write it. The research might take
some time but you can be sure you will have a valuable article
for your readers by the time you are finished, not just garble.

I Don't Know What To Write!

A topic that often arises through discussions on message boards
and forums is how authors are able to write tens, hundreds, and
even thousands of articles, when others find it difficult to
write more than a couple.
What many people do not realize is that there are several
places where you can find ideas for articles instantly, and in
fact half of the work is already done for you!
With the internet being a central location for information, and
expanding with content by the bucket load every day, your topic
will have been covered by someone else already to some extent.
Now the key here is to locate this information and to improve
on it in your own way. You certainly should not simply
plagiarize another author’s work, but could for example do the
following:
- Read the article and note what it is trying to inform you
- Write down any other information you can think of that would
compliment the content
- Compare what you have learnt from the article in comparison
to what you were expecting to learn beforehand. Areas that have
not been covered should be in your article.
These are just 3 simple things you can try to get your creative
juices flowing. Writing on a subject that you know, and one
that you have an avid interest and enjoyment in, is certainly
the easiest subject to write about, but this is not always
possible.
One of the key areas to writing in those situations is to
improve on existing content, as I have mentioned, but where do
you find this information in the first place?
This is very simple and anyone can do it. The main way many of
us navigate the internet and find what we are after is by using
search engines. Perform a few searches on your topic and see
what you find. Other great resources come in the form of
article directories. These hubs of information can literally
provide an unlimited amount of ideas for articles on hundreds
of topics.
Articles can be in varying length. You do not need to sit down
and write 1000 word reports on your topic. An informative 500-
word article is suffice. The necessity is in writing content
that is in some way valuable to the reader.
More ideas can be triggered by partaking in, or just visiting,
discussion groups. Google and Yahoo both provide places where
you can find out subjects that are being discussed, which
topics are popular, and any questions that are prominent from
these discussions. This will provide you with an idea of what
information is being sought.
Check out websites that provide regular news updates. Keeping
current with up-to-date news topics can help you to find an
area that is worth writing about.
Maybe you have a mailing list that you can contact. If this is
the case, then send out a quick email asking them what they
would like to know on a certain topic. Similarly, create a poll
on your website to obtain the same results.
Comparable to discussion groups, forums can also provide
viewpoints from many individuals. You may also regularly take
part in a forum. Why not submit a post stating your desire to
write about a certain subject, and ask for opinions on what
areas would be beneficial to cover.
Here I've highlighted several places where you can start if you
are having trouble finding topics to write about. Remember,
writing articles does not have to be difficult nor time-
consuming. Set out with a plan of what you want your article to
achieve, and what you want your article to inform the reader
about, and you'll be churning out informative articles in no
time!
